After a customer asked to make something on slate, I started to discover what the possibilities are. First I started to work with acrylic paint on this strange surface. That went very well, including finishing with UV and weather resistant varnish. The result is beautiful and scratch resistant. Making these very suitable for hanging outside.     After that I started making it with Indian ink from an assignment, this requires a different preparation. This customer did not want a varnish finish. The slate that I use here comes from an old church from the south of the Netherlands and is antique.
